Cupping is offered as part of massage therapy. The ancient Chinese therapy of cupping has been adapted for various uses today, including with massage. Your therapist might recommend the addition of cupping to a massage treatment plan for increased benefit from massage.
Depending on your therapist, she will use silicon, mushroom-shaped cups or use plastic cups. The same principle applies: air is expelled from the cups, creating a vacuum which draws the tissue up into the cup.
