Reflexology - Foot

LaLa is currently a Certified Foot Reflexology Practitioner and is soon to receive her RCRT (Registered Canadian Reflexologist Therapist designation). This will allow her service to be covered by your extended health.

Important to note Indian Head Massage may be covered by health spending accounts

REFLEXOLOGY is an ancient treatment with roots believed to date back centuries in Greece, Egypt, China, Japan, and India.

CERTIFIED AND REGISTERED REFLEXOLOGISTS are Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) professionals who have studied and are trained to use treatments focused on particular reflex points in the body.

LaLa Dykstra specializes in Foot Reflexology, having completed Reflexology Training with Aromatica Centre for Natural Therapies & Holistic Study. She is a Certified Foot Reflexology Practitioner and is soon to receive her RCRT (Registered Canadian Reflexologist Therapist designation).

Reflexology sessions are non-invasive, focusing on reflex points on the feet that connect via nerve receptors to systems, organs, and glands in the body. Gentle pressure is applied, using techniques that are designed to help with various client issues.

LaLa welcomes individuals of all ages, some of whom have had prior experience with reflexology and others who come for their introduction to this treatment modality.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

While enjoying a warm Epsom salt foot soak, clients are asked to fill out a brief health questionnaire. Foot reflexology is practiced while the client, covered with a blanket, lies on a massage table with feet comfortably elevated. The treatment involves the sole and top of each foot.

Clients might choose to be silent during the process or to engage in conversation. The reflexologist notes the body’s reaction cues, such as deepened breathing. The one-hour session ends with a foot massage.

You can expect to experience relaxation. After a session, some people want to have a nap when they get home, others feel energized.
