The acupuncture needles are so fine, about the width of a hair. The needles are so fine that a lot of time nothing is felt when the needle is inserted. There may be a little pinch that is felt but overall, the experience is relaxing.
There are many theories about how acupuncture works including the release of endorphins, neurotransmitters being affected, pain channels blocked and blood flow stimulated. Acupuncture is a completely natural process that encourages the body to heal itself. From an Eastern medicine, perspective acupuncture helps to restore the balance in your body by removing blockages from the energetic pathways (meridians) of the body.

When performed by qualified practitioner acupuncture is a safe treatment. Susan has a 3-year diploma in acupuncture and a 3-year bachelor of science. The acupuncture diploma is a program with 2100 hours of training including over 500 hours of clinical training.
